Band Booster Meeting May 1st @ 6:00

Due to the Jacksonville State Honor Band next week the Childersburg High School Band Booster Meeting has been changed to this Thursday May 1st at 6:00pm.

Band End of the Year Dates

Parents and Students,

Congratulations to the students for an outstanding concert last week, and thank you for all those that attended! The school year is quickly drawing to a close. Here are some important dates to remember for the band.

• Tomorrow we will be taking a field trip to both elementary schools to perform our spring concert. Students should wear the same uniform they did for Thursday night and will also need money for food on that day. Click for Itinerary
• This Tuesday and Thursday we will be having leadership clinics for those interested in Drum Major. Clinics are from 3:30-5:00
• All applications for students interested in section leader, Drum Major, or Band Captain are due this Friday.
• Next Tuesday-Thursday (May 6-8) we will be having our Auxiliary auditions; all paperwork and audition fees must be turned in no later than Tuesday May 6^th.
• Our Band Calendar for next year will be sent home this week. Parents please be on the lookout.
• Permission forms and Money for next years Band Camp Retreat to Opelika, AL for the Sounds of Summer DCI Show is due May 12^th.
• Lastly our Band Banquet to honor our seniors and all band members is on May 16^th at the Central Alabama Community College Banquet Hall. Students will receive their tickets the week of the Banquet. Parents if you would like to purchase a ticket to attend the cost is $10 per admission; tickets can be purchased in the band room until May 15^th. All Seniors will be given two tickets for their parents.

Great Concert!!!!

The Childersburg Concert Band and Childersburg Beginning Band did an outstanding Job tonight at their spring concert. Time to do it again tomorrow for some future band members. Same Uniform, Same Place, Different Time. Great Job!!!

Concert Week!!!

Parents and Students,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter. This upcoming week is very exciting for the band and I just wanted to take a minute and review everything going on.

• Monday: Complete Concert Band Rehearsal 3:30-5:00 (attendance is mandatory and will be graded)
• Tuesday: Spring Concert Band Dress Rehearsal 3:30-5:00 for complete Concert Band and Beginning Band (attendance is mandatory and will be graded)
• Wednesday: All Bag Fundraiser Money is Due
• Thursday: Spring Concert (See Itinerary for details)
• Friday: 6^th Grade Students Concert 2:00pm (attire same as spring concert)

As you can see we have a lot going on this week. Along with this busy week next Monday we will be taking a field trip to Watwood Elementary and Childersburg Elementary to put on a concert for the school.

I hope to see everyone at our spring concert. The students have been working very hard and I really think this will be our best concert to date. Have a great remainder of your Sunday.

Band Announcements

Parents and Students,

I hope everyone had a nice restful spring break and is ready to make that final push till summer: The band has a lot of activities planned to finish out our year and I just wanted to take a moment to make sure everyone is aware of what is coming up:

• Last week we started our third and final fundraiser for the year. We will complete a bag sale. Student were sent home Wednesday with a brochure all money must be turned in on April 23^rd. I highly encourage all students to participate either to help with their fundraising requirement/band fees for this year or to prepare for band camp next year. Students will receive 40% of all profits sold onto their account and all of the money will go towards purchasing new music stands for the band room.
• There is a Band Booster Meeting this Thursday April 10^th at 6:00pm. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
• The band will be hosting open auditions for the drum line Tuesday April 8^th through Thursday April 10^th from 3:30-5:00pm. Auditions are open to all students in grades 8^th-12^th, Students should expect to attend all three days to learn all skills necessary to be a member of the drum line. You do not have to have any prior experience to attend auditions. If you are interested see Mr.Rogers in the band room for details.
• The Band Auxiliary Line will be having an informational meeting on Thursday April 17^th From 5:00pm-6:00pm for any 8^th-12^th grade students interested in participating in the color guard or majorette line for next year. To be considered you and a parent must be present at the meeting or schedule a conference before auditions. If you are interested see Mr.Rogers in the band room for details.
• For all students interested in trying out for Drum Major we will have a short meeting on Thursday April 17^th from 3:30-4:00 to review the audition process and requirements.
•  The Childersburg Band Programs Spring Concert will be Thursday April 24^th at 6:00pm. I hope to see everyone their for the bands last full performance of the year. The Students have been working very hard to prepare and it is guaranteed to be a wonderful concert.

I hope everyone has a great week and I hope to see you all at the finale concert for the All County Honor and this Saturday at 2:00pm
